Mexicans starting coming to America in substancial numbers during the two World Wars. We needed them to help us grow crops here while all our men were off fighting. The Mexican Government and the USG even cooperated during WW2 to bring Mexican field hands here under the Bracero program. These Mexicans were essentially slaves. After the invention of more mechanized agricultural equipment like a cotton picker and the return of our men, America did not need as many slaves. But these field hands still come to America because our stuff is sick and Mexico is a politically corrupt hole.

If the question is asking when the first Mexican Americans came to the US, they didn't. The US came to them. They were alreaday living in Texas and the Southwest when these lands became part of the US in the 1840's.
