REVENGE! they also got alcase lorraine back in the end, but all the allies annicial goal was to hurt germany. they made them reduce their military and give up alot of land, the allies never again wanted Germany to dominate and havea great power. however it sowed the seeds to the next war. the Treaty left Germany in a great position to have another person come in and take the power, hitler.
