all life in oceans, life had no "hard parts" (e.g. shells, bones, teeth), oceans were less salty than they are now. the precambrian is a very long period, from before life to first life with "hard parts", environment changed many times often dramatically.

When did Precambrian Time begin?

The Precambrian period was from 4600 million years ago to about 542 million years ago.

What were the dominant animals in the preCambrian era?

The dominant organisms during the Precambrian include the proarticulatans, such as Dickinsonia, Yorgia, and Praecambridium which were a group of "air-mattress" organisms possibly related to modern day placozoans, rangeomorphs, such as Rangea, and Charnia, which were frond-shaped organisms that had bilateral to radial symmetries, and the trilobozoans, like Tribrachidium, which were disk-like organisms with a tri-radial symmetry, possibly related to cnidarians. The ancestral mollusk, Kimberellia, is found throughout Precambrian strata of the world. There were also sponges, and what have been interpreted as the polyps and medusae of cnidarians during the Precambrian, as well. Very primitive worms and arthropods appear at the very end of the Precambrian, as it transitions into the Cambrian period.

The two eras of the Precambrian period are?

Archeozoic and ProterozoicThe two periods of the Cenozoic Era are the Tertiary and the Quatemary.

How long did the PreCambrian era last?

The Precambrian Era. The name means: "before the Cambrian period." This old, but still common term was originally used to refer to the whole period of earth's history before the formation of the oldest rocks with recognizable fossils in them. In the last few decades, however, geologists have found that there are some hard-to-discern fossils in some Precambrian rocks, so this period is now also known as the Cryptozoic or "obscure life" Eon (from the words "crypt" = "hidden," and "zoon" = "life"). The Precambrian covers almost 90% of the entire history of the Earth. It has been divided into three eras: the Hadean, the Archean and the Proterozoic. Source: Unknown The Precambrian Era comprises all of geologic time prior to 600 million years ago. The Precambrian was originally defined as the era that predated the emergence of life in the Cambrian Period. It is now known, however, that life on Earth began by the early Archean and that fossilized organisms became more and more abundant throughout Precambrian time. The two major subdivisions of the last part of the Precambrian are the Archean (oldest) and the Proterozoic. Rocks younger than 600 Ma are considered part of the Phanerozoic.

What was life like in the 1700s compared to life today?

What was the precambrian environment like compared to the present?

During the Precambrian period, which lasted from about 4.6 billion years ago to 541 million years ago, the Earth's environment was very different from the present. The atmosphere had little to no oxygen, the continents were still forming, and life was mostly single-celled organisms. The present environment is characterized by a more oxygen-rich atmosphere, complex multicellular life forms, and well-established continents.

How was the environment like during the Cretaceous period compared to the present?

What period did the Rock of Precambrian shield form?

The Rock of Precambrian shield formed about 4 billion years ago during the Precambrian period. It is one of the oldest geological formations on Earth, characterized by its ancient rocks and lack of fossils.

Is the Earth's surface hot or cool in the Precambrian Time?

During the Precambrian time, the Earth's surface was generally hotter compared to present day, due to higher levels of volcanic activity and lower levels of atmospheric oxygen. This period experienced intense tectonic activity, leading to the formation of supercontinents and widespread geologic changes.

What are the Preambrian plants?

During the Precambrian period, plants had not yet evolved. The Precambrian period is characterized by simple life forms like bacteria and algae. Land plants did not appear until the Ordovician period, which followed the Precambrian.

What did jellyfish eat during the precambrian time period?

Jellyfish were not even alive during the Precambrian era because only single-celled organisms lived.

What is the environment like in the Jurassic period compared to the present?

During the Jurassic period, the environment was warmer and had higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere compared to the present. The landmasses were generally located closer together, forming the supercontinent Pangaea. The Jurassic period had a diverse range of plant and animal species, including dinosaurs, which dominated the terrestrial ecosystems.

When did the ediacaran fauna exist?

The Ediacaran fauna existed during the Ediacaran period, approximately 635 to 541 million years ago. This period was just before the Cambrian explosion, which marked the rapid diversification of multicellular life forms.
