The industrial Revolution may have opened up for more production and jobs, but it had a negative impact on the way of life. The factories employed women and children so that they could pay them less and anyone who even mumbled about a pay raise was fired. Working and living conditions were deplorable and the capitalists were making o much money that they used it to influence the government. Migration caused a break in the social ties and led to illegitimate relationships, Alcoholism, loneliness, and much more. The quality of life was degraded significantly to the point where it could be said that "the shortest route out of Manchester is a glass of whiskey".
