The north of Ireland has a majority of unionits who are decendents from the Scots and English from the time dating back to the plantations of Ulster. So they want to keep up the union with Britain. They see themselfs as more ''Ulster-Men'' or Brits than do they do irishmen. So that's why the north is still under british rule cause the majority up there want to be under british rule. Vaild Reason? I don't know. Make up your own mind.
AnswerThe partition of Ireland was when the British granted Independence to 26 counties of Ireland in 1921. The remaining 6 counties located in north east ulster remained under British rule.
Like everything about Ireland is very complicated I can think of three reasons: Religion: the people of Northern Ireland were predominately Protestant while the rest of Ireland was Catholic. There were fears of the Irish government taking its instructions from the Vatican Politics: The Unionist Party in North Ireland was closely linked to the British Conservative Party which was opposed to Irish Home Rule. Ethnic: The Northern Irish people were predominately of Scottish and English origin. They feared being ruled by the Irish. There had already been instances of Anglo-Irish property in the south being set on fire.
Northern Ireland has it's own government devolved from the British government. The Republic of Ireland, often incorrectly referred to as the south of Ireland or southern Ireland, has its own government.
what island? if you mean Iceland then no they are not. if you mean Ireland then no as well ireland is part ofthe U.K. and the north inreland republic is its own country
The entire island was once a part of Britain. The majority of people in the north of Ireland wanted to remain united to Britain. The rest of Ireland wanted a republic. As a solution Ireland was partitioned (separated) and the south was given its freedom while the six counties of Northern Ireland remained British.
British troops have never left the North of Ireland.

Ireland is divided by two parts; north being protestants, south being Catholics
Ireland-north and republic and Scotland
They did not split as in the suceeding of the South in the Civil War...rather, the Republic of Ireland gained their independence, while Northern Ireland remains under British rule. There is a big movement to reunite all of Ireland to being the Republic together...but that is potentially a ways down the road
yes
Yes. Loosely speaking, Scotland, Wales, England, and the north of Ireland could be called British.

Korea is divided into north (People's Democratic Republic of Korea) and south (Republic of Korea). Ireland is divided into the south (Republic of Ireland) and north (Northern Ireland - a British dependency).
No. Ireland is a long way from the North Pole, though it is closer to it than it is to the equator. It is not close enough to the North Pole to be described as being polar.
