Jiulius Caesar fought a civil war against his opponents led by Pompey. Caesar pursued Pompey to Egypt, and the latter was murdered there. He then fought the king of Pontus (in Turkey, on the SE shore of the Black sea). After that he went to north Africa to fight more opposition forces. He then returned to Rome, but Pompey's son fled to Spain. Caesar went there to fight the remnants of the opposition, defeating them at the battle of Munda.
