well, he died by a bloody battle at stamford bridge on willliam duke of normandys side.
At Queenston Heights and Lundy's Lane our brave fathers, side by side, for freedom, homes, and loved ones dear, firmly stood and nobly died. And those dear rights which they maintained, we swear to yield them never. Our watchword evermore shall be, the Maple Leaf forever! - The Maple Leaf Forever : : The battle of Lundy's Lane was the bloodiest battle of the War of 1812. The US had successfully beat the British (who owned Canada at the time) earlier at the Battle of Chippewa, and wanted to continue their quest to conquer Canada. American troops moved to Queenston Heights. On July 25, 1814, Brigadier General Winfield Scott received orders to move his troops forward. The British-Canadians heard of this and quickly moved towards them. They met in a small cemetery alongside a country lane called Lundy's Lane (Hence the name of the battle). The British fired their three cannons as soon as the Americans came into view, and the battle began. It continued well into the night, with both sides fighting off the other's attempts to take over the cannons. But after hours of fighting, both sides were exausted. The Americans had lost 860 men, the British 878. Both retreated. The battle of Lundy's Lane has been a source of debate over the years as to who won. Neither side really did. However, after the terrible loss to American troops acquired at Lundy's Lane, America stopped the attacks on Canada.
