New Hampshire had a governor, cabinet and advisers as was formed as a proprietary colony, with Robert Mason serving as Lord Proprietor. For a time both Massachusetts and New Hampshire were ruled by one governor. The Earl of Bellamont was appointed governor in 1699 of both colonies.
