I was assigned to 26th Signal from 1984-1988. The 26th Signal Battalion was based in Heilbronn, about 35 km north of Ludwigsburg. Ludwigsburg was the home of the 93rd Signal Brigade of which the 26th was a component. The 26th was deactivated along with VII Corps after the Gulf War in the early 1990s.
