lol i got two tattoos in prison. technically you are to receive written disciplinary action which, if you receive several, can lead to an extension in your sentence but that hardly ever happens because the guards know they hurt you more by searching everyone elses cell, taking their drugs and tattoo machines, then telling them its because you got caught getting a tatto. so don't get caught with fresh ink in prison.
They were brutal by beating inmates, wipping them, hanging. Kapos where also inmates chosen by the SS to be incharge of inmates. They got special privilages like extra food. Why they beat the inmates is hard to say.

No. Inmates were subject to an austere regime of hard work and corporal punishment. It was normal for new inmates to be flogged on arrival, and for leaving inmates to be flogged upon discharge. These were in addition to any floggings they might have received during their stay. Adult inmates of both sexes were stripped to the waist and flogged on the bare back with the cat'o nine tails. Juvenile inmates of both sexes were flogged with the birch on the bare buttocks.
Well, a teardrop tattoo on one's face, like where a real tear would drip, is usually adorning the face of a killer. Alot of inmates get teardrops, each standing for a person they have killed. The heart I'm not so sure about.
Men whose lechery lands them in jail are often subject to equally distasteful punishment from fellow inmates.
It is the amount of scores he did and the people he killed. It would pretty much make him untouchable with people who know their stuff like gangs or inmates.
a. the control of violence specifically among drug offenders b. the punishment of even marginally violent inmates c. the discouraging of violence in regular society d. the control of very violent inmates
Far too much. A good legal system does not rely on prison to "fix" inmates as in depth studies reveal that prison only breads more of the same and does next to nothing to correct or reform behavior. Punishment and Justice need to be meeted out.
