Possibly some production, and trading arts such as dock workers, ship construction (repairs), etc. As that is what the Imperial Army/Navy/Air Force would have had them doing while Japan was occupying that region. Japan had to prepare the Philippines for defense against possible US/Allied counter-attack, which ultimately did occur. So, if the Philippine people learned much during that time, it was watching and listening, and learning as they peformed labor for the occupational forces.
