On Christmas Eve, it is a tradition to have Portuguese wine and salted cod fish for a midnight supper. The cod fish is cooked with vegetables, eggs, and potatoes in a large pan of water. This is called consiado. On Christmas Day, it is turkey, pork, and other various meats. Along with cakes and sweets. A traditional dessert called Rabanadas is eaten on Christmas day too. It is made from white break soaked in eggs and wine and fried to make a candy-like crust.
