Science as a secular religion?

Science is not a religion - quite the opposite. For something to be scientific it has to be put to questioning, placing doubt, and proving or disproving by experimentation on a quantifible measure. Religion is based on faith which is believing something even though or even dispite there being no physical evidence. One can be a scientist who is religious as well (there are many) or one can be neither religious not scientific. If one practices "science" as a religion he is probably doing both aspects wrong and his "evidence" would be tainted by "faith". Today's scientists forget that their "science" is theory-driven and not evidence-based. They FIRST create a theory and then try to match lab experiments to their theory. If that is the case, then why they are so angry when someone talks about the "possibility" of God's existence as a theory? They say "let me look at the evidence", but they too have no evidence to back up their theories of 11-dimentional multiple universes...

How did Jews in Europe view the crusades?

Jews in Europe were fearful of the Crusades, mostly because the Crusaders had been driven to the point of fanaticism and often took that out on Jewish communities in Europe or the Middle East. The number of attacks on Jewish ghettos skyrocketed during the years of the Crusades and Jews, unable to legally defend themselves or procure arms, were often slaughtered.

Are there any wars only based on religion in the middle east?

Almost every war has multiple causes. Even things that are typically seen as religious wars, such as the Crusades, also have non-religious elements. (In the case of the Crusades, there was the political need to protect Byzantine Constantinople from the expansion and conquest of the Turkish Empires.) So, no. There are no wars based exclusively on religion, but religion figures quite heavily in most wars in the Middle East.
