i haven't had a perm in 10 years. Would Like a mild perm for a African American hair.
One common myth is that there is just one type of African-American hair. African-American hair isn't just very kinky, coarse texture. Though the texture may vary, there are some similarities that make African-American hair different from other types.
no it is not.

Generally, the hair contains less water, grows more slowly, and breaks more easily than Caucasian or Asian hair.
There are no shampoos that straighten African American hair. Ways of straighten the hair is by a relaxer, using a flat iron or by blow drying it straight.

You can't remove a perm. You have to wait for your hair to grow all the way out, or you have to shave your head.
it is better to perm the hair then dye because the chemicals in the relaxer will strip the hair of color. This increases the risk of your hair color being lighter than you desired.
pink oil is usally used for curly African American hair so theirs really no need for a perm
No, you use it to CURL your hair.
she invented the first hair relaxer 'perm' for African Americans
How the hair curls after wet depends on the type of hair they have. In some cases, their hair will curl after you wet it. In almost all cases, if they get a perm and wet their, it remains straight.
Yes , but before you put the color in make sure you went through all the relaxer steps probably. Also it has to be done on wet hair.
totally! i'm African american as well. you can do what i do (wash, blow dry, flat iron) or whatever gets it straight. u can also get a texturizer, which is a very mild perm. as for no heat, lots of ribbons, headbands, clips and bows will be fine. if you want teased scene hair, straighten, and then tease! simple as that.( you can look up how to tease it, there are videos too) you also can get the layers, but i dont recommend it. my hair looks cute just plain, with scene-ey cloths as well. oh, and i dont have a perm.
Hair straightening using a hot comb or relaxer has a long history among women & men of African descent, reflected in the huge commercial success of the straightening comb popularized by Madam C. J. Walker in the early 1900s.
Don't call African people "BLACK"... ! yes they can if they want....
