Biological weapons of any sort are unethical and inhumane. The WW1 carnage of mustard gas (a chemical weapon) was so horrific that neither the Allied military or the Germans used in WW2 against each other.

Few in history have resorted to bio or chemical weapons, and they have been roundly condemned and vilified worldwide:

* Japan's "451 Unit" who used them against Chinese civilian prisoners. Many of the '451 Unit" officers were executed / imprisoned after Japan's surrender in WW2.

* Nazi Germany's SS used them on their Jewish and other concentration camp inmates. The Allies executed those SS officers and men following WW2.

*Saddam Hussein, Iraq, against Iranian troops in the Iraqi-Iranian War (started by Saddam): 1983- Sarin Gas, 1985 - Tabun.

1988: gas attack against Kurdish civilians in Halabja, killing 5-7,000

* Bashier Asad, Syria, against his own people in the 2010 - present day rebellion.
