they didn't have a steady flow of gold, and without that, they couldn't make coins made out of all gold, so there was an inflation to make up for the value of the coins

∙ 13y agoAfter conquering a territory the Romans stabilized it by military patrols. At the same time they began the process of Romanizing the area, by establishing Roman officials who dispensed Roman law, colonizing it with Roman citizens, and trading. Of course good roads were always built which benefited both the Romans and the conquered people.
Rome got too big to control. When they stopped conquering new lands, no new sources of wealth could be found. The value of the coins went down, causing inflation. Basically, it all went downhill from there.

Justinian expanded the Byzantine Empire through means of war and the conquering other lands. The additions of the former Roman provinces of Italia, Baetica, and Africa Proconsularis expanded the Byzantine Empire to it's largest point in history.

The spread of Christianity stopped when the Umayyad Caliphate in the Middle East rapidly began conquering lands and making many people change from Christianity to Islam.
Because the southwest originally was part of Mexico. By conquering such territories, many of these people were swiftly sacked from their lands.

Francisco Pizarro went exploring to find new lands and riches for the Spanish Crown. He is most famously known for conquering the Inca Empire in South America and claiming its vast wealth for Spain. His primary goal was to expand Spanish influence and acquire treasures like gold and silver.
