Some Jews actually didn't loose their faith yet many did. They questioned why their God would do such a thing to them and were so depressed in the spirit and hope they gave up. This is not the reason for every single Jew, yet for many of them, this is the case. Sometimes its a personal connection with their God that is broken due to confusiona and fustration. This question is very broad and can be difference for every person.

She had much faith during the begging of hiding, but as time went on she still had more faith then the others {not necessarily her dad} but not as much as the begging. When she got sent to the camp she became very silent and not as outgoing and positive as she used to be. She became dreadful, sad, and depressed.

Some of those who had faith before, kept it; others didn't.

Some of those who had no faith before, acquired it; others didn't, and remained secular Jews.

Some never knew they were Jews until they were informed by the Nazis.
