The plantation children had tutors for school since they were so far from towns and other people. Slave children were required to work almost from the time they could walk, so they didn't have much fun. Plantation boys learned to hunt with their fathers and often had hunting dogs to help take care of. Girls learned to dance, play the piano, do embroidery, and how to take care of the house.
