Anne Frank and the other people in hiding had to do a lot of quiet activity during the day whilst there were people working downstairs in the werehouse. Of course Anne, Margot and Peter had to study and they studied amongst other things Dutch literature, history, algebra (which Anne hated), English, French and shorthand. Anne also enjoyed reading about royalty, filmstars and mythology.

When the workers in the werehouse went home for lunch or for the day, the people in hiding were able to move about a bit more and cook and clean. The helpers Miep Gies, her husband Jan, Bep Voskuijl, Victor Kugler and Jo Kleiman often came to visit for a couple of hours to keep them company. Miep and Jan even stayed a night in the annex before Fritz Pfeffer arrived in November 1942!

Anne often helped her mother and Mrs van Pels with cooking preparations such as shelling peas and they helped prepare jars of jams and spices for the buisness previously run by Otto Frank. This was often done on weekends when they weren't as afraid of people in the werehouse hearing them.

Of course Anne also wrote in her diary and wrote stories in her spare time too!

Nothing. Anne Frank is the daughter of Otto and Edith Frank and sister of Margot Frank, who all went into hiding ino a "Secret Annex" at Otto's office building during World War II. Eventually a total of 4 more people (Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, their son Peter, Mr. Dussel, and a cat named Mouschi) moved in with them. They remained hidden for about two years, July 1942 to August 4 1944, until they were eventually they were found by the Nazis and all died at concentration camps except Otto Frank. During their hiding Anne wrote in her diary, which was a gift from her father. When Otto Frank returned he was given her diary by Miep, one of the people who supplied them with food, books, etc. He later published the book after reading it and taking out some of her entries which he found insulted her Mother too much.
