What are the chief characteristics of Indian agriculture as it is today?

Andhra pradesh one of the India states more keen in developing

agriculture activity with scientific knowledge support.Unlike Punjab

who are exploiting all the knowledge and over doing.This is very harmful.

Water is the vital agent for Indian farmer which is either available in abundance when not required and scanty when needed due to monsoon

blues. Still Indian farmers supply their produce fighting all the odds. Thanks to the modern politician who lack knowledge of Agriculture

and to gather votes vouch for farmers interests. Main short coming

in the shape of middle men who procure produce from farmers for

less price and sell them to consumer for fat prices. Dishonest traders

sell fake seed/other things needed for farming. Creating false scarcity of fertilizers.

The Farmer is very much dependent on Government mechanism which is lathergic in implementing national projects. Maharastra anubhavfarmer club achieved some thing like a miracle in educating farmers in choosing right crop technology etc.

Though procurement is government job fixing price is not . Politicians like Sh Charda babu Naidu of Telugu Desam Party opinionedthat farming a waste process but if nor farming where we get our staple food??
