The Soviet Union, the United States, and the worldwide Jewish community were the chief supporters of the right to establish a Jewish State and led the vote to establish Israel. The Arab States and Britain were chiefly opposed to establishment of a Jewish State. After 1953, Britain became a strong ally of Israel and the Soviet Union became one of Israel's chief antaognists.
Israel immediately became a powerful state because of several factors: It's close political connection to the US, the strength of it's people, the financial retetution owed to It by the German people, etc. Also it's status and strength in the middle east was presumed to be naught. After it became a counter in 1948 many of it's surounding neighbors declared war and attempted to invade Israel. The Jews won and annexed large areas of land from it's new enemies and the modern world has been politically precarious ever since.
Israel is the only Jewish state in the last 2000 years. The previous Hasmonean Empire, which was a Jewish State, was defeated by the Romans in 37 BCE.
I believe it was instigated by the Americans due to the historic ties of the Jewish People to Israel Do you not know of the holocaust? after that most nations in the WORLD agreed on the creation of a Jewish state not just the US. Plus the Jewish have been wanting to nationalize just like Italy did. why don't they deserve to have a country of there own. not to mention, that they fought WWI and there want for there own country was unknown of and ignored.
What Jewish state in the Middle East became a close ally of the United States?Israel
The only Jewish state in the world, Israel.
As Israel (Medinat Yisra'el) is the only Jewish state in the Middle East (or anywhere) it would have to be them.
There is no country that became a Jewish state in 1920.
No Brit promised a Jewish state. The League of Nations handed a mandate to the British administer the Jewish homeland that was created when the Middle East was divided into different countries.
Jewish state of Israel and the Arabs of the Middle East
The Jewish State of Israel.

Because of it's location close to the middle of the state.
That would be the Jews and Jewish Nationalists (also called Zionists).
The Zionists wanted to establish a Jewish national state in the Middle East because the Jews given their smaller population, could not pose a significant threat.
