The targets chosen were not military targets. In fact, strictly military targets were not chosen because of the possibility of missing a small military target not surrounded by a large urban area. The targets available to General Carl Spaatz were all cities with large civilian populations. Hiroshima, Kokura, Niigata and Nagasaki were the final choices for dropping the atomic bomb. All of which are large cities that were of reasonable military value. The debate comes in on whether the United States should have dropped the atomic bomb on a strictly military site and avoided the monstrous amount of civilian casualties.
America bombed Hiroshima in WWII with the first ever atomic bomb.
Dropping the atomic bomb was a bad thing because it brought the Japanese to a very bad state and the radiation affected people into having poor babies. It was very hard to bring back Japan into a normal state The good thing was that it restored a lot of places in the world to peace. The atomic bomb forced the Japanese to surrender stopping them doing anything worse or getting stronger so someday, will be able to attack other places with large military such as America.

Costa Rica is one of the best places to live in Latin America. It is the only nation in Latin America that has never had its government overthrown by the military but has always changed governments by elections. It is also one of the safest places in Latin America.
Pearl Harbor is in Hawaii. The A bombs were in Japan. These places are not close to each other. Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese in 1941 & the A bombs were dropped in 1945........
Everyone in America was suddenly afraid of innocent Japanese Americans. They became outcasts with little money and no one willing to help. Soon the US government forced all Americans of Japanese descent to go into concentration camps, miserable places where they were forced to stay. They were in the camps for many year (for more information try reading Farewell to Manzanar) and once they were out they were still strongly discriminated against.
the Japanese wanted peace.

Another good resource is. www.military.com/discounts this will give you places that have military discounts from larger chain stores.
