It was bad as many American soldiers died in war but elswhere America lost little else. It was good for the U.S.A in the sence in World War II Europe suffered greatly, and America did not suffer nearly as much. Approximately 15 million European lives where lost. European economy plummeted, buissnesses where destroyed. Europe was in debt and was forced to loan money from America. Europe was left in total devestation. America grew from this greatly. Europe bought American produce. They (Europe) supported American buissnesses and America, from this became very powerful. This transformed America in to the "Super Power" it is today. Although later on America's success gave partial reason for "The Cold War", as the U.S.S.R. did not like America this ecconomised and powerful. But yes, America did gain from World War II.
