slavery in the middle colonies was harsh. The "owners" will usually beat them up to do there work such as cook, clean, pick cotton, etc. The owners will not kill the slave because they were worth money. If a slave has a disease they would kill them in that case because they don't want the other slave to get sick
Well, during the 18Th century it wasn't that "bad". Owners didn't beat their slaves. Slaves weren't even known as slaves, they were known as Indentured Servants. (People who do labor work) But they are paid for it, and when they are done working they are done being indentured slaves. During the 19Th century things got really harsh.

∙ 9y agoYes, before the American War of Independence, all the colonies of British North America had slaves. Slavery continued in all states of the USA until well into the 19th century, when northern and some middle states began to abolish it.

∙ 12y agoIt was rather strict. The middle colonies were not as reliant on slavery as the South was, but the use of African American slaves still sped up their development process. In the Middle Colonies, slaves were more similar to 'indentured servants' than the complete master-slave ownership role most are familiar with due to the South.

∙ 7y agoYes, there was once slavery in the Middle Colonies but not as widespread as in the Southern Colonies. Middle Colonies mostly grew tobacco. Slaves were used on plantations in much the same way as slaves were used on cotton plantations.
