Highly. Some like to believe that the high degree of success resulted from the efforts of the Dutch West India Company and their better relationships with the Native Americans. Others contend that it was after the British takeover of New Netherlands and the cooperation between the older Dutch settlers and the British that a spirit of freedoms was developed which fostered an International commerce and sense of laissez-faire that accepted tolerance which prompted rapid growth. Whatever was the catalyst it worked and continues to do so.
