No one led the revolution against the Tsar in 1917. The February Revolution that resulted in the overthrow of the Tsar was a spontaneous demonstration against the Tsar by peasants, workers and soldiers in Petrograd. They were demonstrating against food shortages, unfair land ownership and Russia's involvement in World War 1. The demonstrations got out of hand, spread to other cities and could not be put down by the Tsar. He was convinced by his ministers that the only way to stop the rioting was to step down, so he did.

Actually, Nicholas II was not a very effective ruler. It was his weakness that allowed the foment that led to the revolution.

The cause of the Russian Revolution of 1917 was that the Czar, or emperor, Nicholas II was using all the money and treating the people unfairly.there were shortages of food and the "commoners" , or peasants and poor people, were the ones revolting because of this.
Vladimir Lenin led the Communist movement in Russia. There were other Marxist leaders such as Julius Martov, but they were not as radical as Lenin and did not start the October Revolution that put Lenin and his Bolsheviks (later renamed Communists) in power.
