Blacks are slightly overrepresented as compared to their proportion of the general population, however, they tend to take support roles in which they do not face combat. That means doing paperwork, or more technical roles. Asians are greatly underrepresented as a proportion of the population, meaning they do not often volunteer for the military. This goes against the common wisdom which is that minorities bare the burden of fighting, etc.
