The U.S. military has estimated that between 200,000 and 250,000 South Vietnamese soldiers died in the war.
Over 58,000 American military died during the Vietnam War as well.
U.S. 58,000 troops were killed
the North vietnamese army 1.1 million deaths
1,170,000 people were injured
Also, estimates for civilian deaths range from .5 to 2 million. There is difficulty in nailing down this number, because of several factors:
Note, most death counts cover 1959 - 1975.
Also, all of the numbers above EXCLUDE any deaths in Laos and Cambodia. A ballpark number for the entire regional death toll is 5+ million.

2 million vietnamese civilians were killed
1,850,000 Vietcong soldiers were killed
1,087,000 South Vietnam soldiers were killed
So a total of sbout 5 million Vietnamese soldiers and civilians were killed during the Vietnam war
Historians estimate those figures to be approximately 2 or more million. One would have to calculate from the reintroduction of the French colonials and French Indo-China War, through the American Police Action, commonly referred to as the Vietnam War. It would be impossible to tell. Over twenty years of conflict in that part of the globe, there are no credible estimates. French and American body counts were typically exaggerated many civilian deaths were reported as enemy combatants or not reported at all. There is just no way to know or even reliably estimate. Estimating civilian losses during both occupations is like trying to estimate the total deaths of Native Americans from the introduction of Europeans to the American continents. Historians, Anthropologist, and archeologist all disagree. It is guestimated at anywhere from 5 million to over 150 million. That's a lot of realestate.
