In December of 2000, more than 300,000 Viet Veterans had completed the "Agent Orange Registry health examination" offered to Vietnam veterans at VA medical facilities. In 2001, the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), sent out approximately 650,000 "Agent Orange Review's", to IN-COUNTRY Vietnam Veterans, based on database input.
With few, if any exceptions, Agent Orange didn't kill instantly. It destroyed forests/jungles/vegetation. Any deaths that occur/occurred are over lengthly periods of time; with the development of dieases, etc. See website: Agent Orange
Portions of the Ho Chi Minh trail located in Laos and Cambodia may have caught some the spraying operations.

DURING WARTIME, AGENT ORANGE was widly used as a defoliant in jungle or heavily forested areas. The whole area was sprayed, killing all of the trees leaves and foliage, making it eaiser for us to see the enemy. HOWEVER: You didn't have to be right there to be exposed to it. I know people who were in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. They were exposed to agent orange in the process of making it,packaging it, storing it, loading it,shipping it, dispersing it and many other possible ways. So to answer your question: yes it is possible to have been exposed to agent orange at various bases and installations.(NOT in particular Ft. Lewis, but in general).
