Do not play tug-of-war with them because it only encourages them to rip things apart. My SBT is five years old. When I got her as a young puppy, I never played rough games or tug-of-war. I only coddled her and hugged her and kissed her for the first year of her life ----- and then by the time she became an adult, her personality was set to be sweet. Every now and then she'll find my shoes in the closet and shake them in her mouth, but it's minimal.
Also, if you have a male ---- get him NEUTERED. That makes a big difference because this breed is a "bully breed" with bulldog history and therefore a higher amount of testosterone. Neutering a male will make him more calm, less dog-aggressive, and less destructive.

Staffordshire bull terriers usually have a lot of energy, but they can live in a small home as long as they get daily walks. If not, they will become frustrated and can become destructive.
Your dog is most likely being destructive because it is bored or has anxiety issues. Try giving your dog something to keep it occupied. A kong toy filled with dog friendly food is one of my favorites. Also, if your dog gets the necessary exercise it requires, it will be less likely to be bored and destructive.
