Very little. The base of most of the northwest coastal peoples economy was the huge salmon and oolichan runs up coastal rivers. Shellfish where important too. Some people hunted whales as well (such as the Makah). They did not take enough to damage or change the environment. Fire was the main way people changed the northwest environment.

Some people of the Northwest managed grassland and berry production by fires. Most native prairies in the Puget Sound region, for example were kept that way by periodic burning. The mosaic environment created by fire is beneficial to camas bulbs ( a staple), huckleberries and other native berries and deer and small game. To early white European settlers these areas appeared to be "natural" meadows or prairies but actually they where the work of tribes people.

When fire was suppressed some areas, such as the Mima Mounds near Olympia WA, started to fill in with trees.
