Environment can affect the culture of people and how they live by developing distinct ways of life because of limited outside sources influencing the way of life. In Ghana the people are very traditional and have limited outside influence on their culture.

no Zeus ate Metis while she was pregnant with Athena. Athena found her way out through Zeus' forehead (he had to crack it open with an ax to let her out.) Metis is still in there.
the continent of Africa is basically on the equator, so majority of the countries in Africa experience summer all year round; and have many tropical rain forest. Many of these countries do have a rainy season though. It really doesn't influence africans how they live, they basically live everywhere, just like everybpdy else in a tropical climate environment.
