One famous fight was caused by England attempting to tax the tea on colonies, whereupon the colonists dumped all the tea into the ocean, which was called the Boston Tea Party
The colonist smuggled tea, payed no taxes and started the boston Tea party. I hope this helps:)

i think they both wanted control over the fur trade
because they had to pay even more money
At the time, Americans were British! They were British colonists! Of course they were allies! The British colonists in America wanted French land and Great Britain wanted to take over the fur trade in North America.

They smuggled anything, but one of the major products was tea. That is the reason the Boston Tea Party happened. The British lowered the tea tax and the smugglers were loosing money because that made their Dutch tea too high in price. Another product was sugar and molasses. Each were also taxed by the British.
they lost a battle and they taxed the colonists

The colonists were British therefore they needed to support the British crown.
The colonists tried to hurt the British by refusing to import their goods or export American goods to Britain. This practice of halting trade is known as an "embargo."
Trade with the ememy in the revolutionary war hinged on international law. The U.S model commercial treaty of 1776 and the treaty of Armity. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The British were a trading nation and felt that while China was quite prepared to export porcelain, silk and tea to the British and obtain lots of money for this, they were refusing to allow the British to send and sell British goods (apart from mechanical devices like clocks) in China. In other words there was an artificial imbalance in the arrangements for trade imposed by the Chinese authorities. The British felt this was not fair and decided to undermine the Chinese government imposing it.
A practice that was used by the colonists to hurt British trade was the refusal of British goods that were imported and the export of American goods to Britain. This was in response to the taxation on goods that the British were trying to impose on the colonies.
