The Church suffered because the people were losing faith in God. Religion was a big deal during the middle ages, this also means that people aren't going to the Church. Therefore the Church suffered immensely. In the Black Death all they had was faith in God, this is why they thought that God had punished them for their sins because of the Black Death. They did everything that could please the God but nothing worked. The Black Death continued...
