The new immigrants were like the new slaves, they weren't paid much but still did the work of any worker. The immigrants were given harsher conditions and still couldn't counter strike it because they could just be deported. (the last sentence isn't very accurate, I just thought it would've been correct).
It made it harder and heart breaking becouse there were a lot f children working and when they were about in there 20's they looked like old men and died very young.
