The Greek city of Athens in Pericles' time has much later been called 'the birthplace of democracy'. But the democracy in Pericles' days was very limited, especially for poor people. There were a few mass meetings per year if a subject was important enough - a sort of referendum, really - and citizens would be entitled to do jury duty, in a jury that consisted most often of hundreds of people. Those mass meetings could decide on things like war and peace, or on appointing an army commander in times of war. And the juries - who were at the same time judges - could decide on life or death.
That was it. Even to participate in only those mass meetings, you had to be a free-born, male citizen. But all the executive Government jobs were always in the hands of a small group of rich and powerful families - and so never in the hands of any poor people. Also, there were no democratic Institutions like a Congress with power and constitutional rights.
He strongly believed in a democracy even though he was born into a family of aristocrats. He believed in fairness and everyone being treated equally.
Probably not, first of all because of the position and power of the US government it is very unlikely that a dictator could take over. Putting aside the even more unlikely case of an external invasion, the US government is designed in such a way as to make it very difficult for this to happen. Even if it did, the people of the United States are educated in such a way as to value democracy and freedom as such important concepts for their country that a dictatorship likely would not last if it were to be instated at any point.
He conquered them and made them his subjects.
Anyone could say they were a doctor, even if they had no training. (APEX)
Well it can depend. They may be escaping from war or a corrupt government or even just poverty.
According to the ancient historian Thucydides, Pericles strong-armed the democracy into his own power, essentially making Athens a democracy in name only.
if the government neglects peoples rights their could be crisis, the people might even decide to go on strike and stop working until the government work on their demands.....................
People lose trust in friends and their Government, people become paranoid and some may even protest or riot. Things could get out of control, I assume you mean like, the government listening in on people, right?

its not a form of government. This decision was made a long time ago when our founding fathers made the constitution, they probably didn't even ask the people if the government could rule them, but if the people are not happy with the way the government is working we are allowed to over throw the system or impeach government members,
Pericles ruled Greece during its Golden or Classical Age. During his rule, even common Athenians could be elected to public office. He allowed freedom of speech and took Greece through a period of artistic, cultural, economic and democratic supremacy that influenced the world.
Not leagally, people with a criminal record can't even adopt kids if they have a criminal record. The government believes that if you have a criminal record, you could be a danger to the U.S and as a result they won't even let you even in the airports.
Because Pericles thought Athens was better than all the other city states in Greece. he helped found many school and he even founded his own school.
Depends on type of Government, could be a Monarch or dictator or even a president.
The most common way is to petition. Even younge people can!
Not in the US, but Mauritania still practices slavery even today, in 2009. One could argue that the people of North Korea are all slaves of their totalitarian government, even though the term slave is not officially used. There are many kinds of slavery.
Nothig of importance. Other then the size of your shoe, and probably not even that.
