William Barret Travis was a 19th century American Lawyer and Soldier. At the time of the Alamo he was 26years old and a lieutenant colonel in the Texan army. He died in the Battle of the Alamo during the revolution.
Travis was ordered to take reinforcements to the Texan mission in San Antonio. He took over command from Col. James C.Neill. James (Jim) Bowie commanded the volunteers. Travis was shot and killed by a single shot to the head.
