How did Dietrich Bonheoffer fight injustice?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German pastor, educator and theologian. He had several opportunities to escape Germany and live with relatives and he actually traveled out of the country in the early days of the war. But he stayed in Germany and tried to resist the take over of the church by the Nazi's. He also performed some espionage activities by smuggling information out of Germany. He was arrested and held in medium security until the last months of the war when he was held in a secret prison and eventually executed.
