The attack on Pearl Harbor from Japan, made the US get involved in the war. After about 5 years of fighting, the US dropped an atomic bomb over Hiroshima on august 6 1945.
Pearl Habour happened on the 6th December 1941, and is one of the reasons why the US decided to join Britain and Russia in fighting Japan and Germany. In short it was during workd war 2.
