There were lots of storms at sea, and a lack of fresh water. Sometimes food would get moldy and infest with insects those who ate it would get sick. also, a condition called SCURVY killed many sailors. scurvy is caused by a lack of vitamin c.
it changed because he had found new land and there were now more places that needed to be discovered so now the explorers after Cabot used the new maps to find the new land and learn more about it. if you live in the untied states of America if Columbus and Cabot life long friends hadn't discovered America none of the people that live there now would be alive because the land was never discovered and Indians and native Americans would live there instead of humans
With out John Cabot we may not have found parts of North America.here is some info about his Voyagee:First voyageAll that is known about Cabot's first voyage is contained in a letter from John Day (a Bristol merchant) to Christopher Columbus. The letter, written in the winter of 1497, August, mostly concerns the 1497 voyage. However, by way of an aside, Day notes that: "Since your Lordship wants information relating to the first voyage, here is what happened: he went with one ship, his crew confused him, he was short of supplies and ran into bad weather, and he decided to turn back." Since Cabot only received his patent in March 1496, it is generally assumed that this voyage took place in the summer of that year

John Cabot influenced history by discovering new lands for England. His explorations made it possible for future explorers to improve maps and discover gravity and he also helped in establishing modern day America which was one of his former colonies.
John Cabot needed supplies such as food, water, navigation tools like a compass and astrolabe, maps, sailing instruments, ropes, sails, a crew, and a ship to undertake his voyages to explore and discover new lands for England.
