Yes and no. Aushwitz was the largest concentration/ death camp for the Nazis. While the number of people killed was staggering, nearly 2000 a day wasn't quite what happened. Though high, it really didn't exceed 1250 most days.

Not even close to the actual figures, Auschwitz was open from May 1940 to January 1945. This is around 56 months or just over 1700. 1700 x 1712 = over 2.9 million. Less than half actually died (1.1 million). Probably on a set amount of days 1712 people were killed but not every day. Average people died daily was actually around 640-650 mark, not 1712.
