∙ 13y agoThe proportion must be much higher than this, when you add in coal, oil, natural gas, uranium, I don't have a definite answer but I should think it is more like 95%. Some countries have a lot of hydropower, like Canada, but this depends on natural features and is a matter of luck. I read that in a recent cold spell in the UK with record electricity demand, the contribution of wind power was 0.2%, as there wasn't much wind.
