I have been taking Adderall for a year, 20 mg twice a day. I'm also taking Wellbutrin 150 mg 3 times a day, and Levoxyl 100 mcg once a day. I'm now a graduate student, and have been a certified pharmacy technician since 1995. I drink occasionally and have not noticed any problem. I'm a 47-year old overweight female and my blood pressure has been OK (these meds and alcohol could increase BP. What I do is read all the package inserts for all medications I'm taking, and then call or speak to a pharmacist. They're the experts in drug interactions, and usually they'll end their comments with "ask your doctor". I don't always follow all advice, but at least I'm informed.
Taking Adderall will definitely decrease your tolerance for alcohol. Specifically why, I'm not entirely sure, but I would expect it to have something to do with it being a stimulant and therefore allowing your body to move the alcohol into your bloodstream. This, of course, will lead to becoming intoxicated much sooner than under "normal" (unmedicated) circumstances. For instance, unmedicated, I can consume ~6 beers before feeling the effects; when on Adderall, I feel these effects after 2 or 3. If this is a attributable to Adderall being a stimulant, I would suspect non-stimulant alternatives, such as Straterra, to not exhibit this effect.
There may be other consequences to drinking while on Adderall that I'm not aware of. Perhaps others will fill us in with their knowledge.
I can only really tell you my experience. I have a degree in pharmacology, but not much research has been done. Im an alcoholic, currently recovering. When i took Adderall while my Alcoholism was active, it made me really want to drink. I am currently 5 months w/o a drink, and take up to 180mg of Adderall daily (not healthy, prescribed, safe, or recommended). I think the answer to your question depends on whether or not you suffer from alcohlism. If not, I don't think it would "cause" you to drink really. It definently allows for a lot more alcohol consumption though.
Yes; Adderall contains amphetamine which can cause adverse cardiac events such as racing heart, high blood pressure, and cause sudden death in those with heart defects. Consult your doctor and discontinue use. Seek immediate medical attention if you begin to have any chest pain.
No.
yes
Yes. Bipolar Mania along with Adderall can cause theft.
Definently, yes
I Don't Think The Marijuana Will. On The Other hand, Smoking Adderall Will Cause Serious Injury Due To The Fact That Adderall Has Binders And Fillers With The Amphetamine. Smoking Those Will Basically "Rape Your Lungs" So Just Stick To Orally Taking The Adderall. If You Want A Little Bit Of A Better Buzz From Adderall. Try Taking Tums With Your Adderall.
Adderall will cause one to test positive for amphetamines in a drug screen.
It's not so much you Can't urinate; It's that you don't drink as much liquids once you are, so your body goes into fight or flight and retains what water you do have.
drink loads of water and flush it out
