Wow.....ok the previous guy who just posted doesnt know what the **** he's talking about.
No! weed has a neutral effect to the body. while all these people saying it's addictive and brain cell damage and blah blah have obviously never smoked or ingested THC before to understand the effects make assumptions or judgments. IF you've never tried something and only heard about it from mommy and daddy please, leave it to the people who have.
it doesnt kill brain cells
you half to smoke 40kg to overdose which is like 160k of weed at once therefor (IMPOSSIBLE!)
it isn't addictive. it's said so because of the pleasant effects that people enjoy
it doesn't make you lazy or unmotivated or hang out with drug addicts or commit crime
it doesnt make you violent or make you lose hygiene.
you've probably heard this already but alcohal is ALOT worse. the guy that posted before didn't mention that because he obviously does not smoke to know, and probably is a frequent drinker.
overall weed isn't for everyone. it just might not be as fun to someone else.
bottom line it's SAFE don't listen to anyone telling you otherwise, and don't drink smoke cigs or try anything else! try it in a designated location.
Long-term marijuana abuse can lead to addiction; that is, compulsive drug seeking and abuse despite its known harmful effects upon social functioning in the context of family, school, work, and recreational activities. Long-term marijuana abusers trying to quit report irritability, sleeplessness, decreased appetite, anxiety, and drug craving, all of which make it difficult to quit.
Marijuana and Mental Health
A number of studies have shown an association between chronic marijuana use and increased rates of anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and schizophrenia.
Effects on the Heart
Marijuana increases heart rate by 20-100 percent shortly after smoking; this effect can last up to 3 hours. In one study, it was estimated that marijuana users have a 4.8-fold increase in the risk of heart attack in the first hour after smoking the drug.
Effects on the Lungs
Numerous studies have shown marijuana smoke to contain carcinogens and to be an irritant to the lungs. In fact, marijuana smoke contains 50-70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than does tobacco smoke. Marijuana users usually inhale more deeply and hold their breath longer than tobacco smokers do, which further increase the lungs' exposure to carcinogenic smoke.
Effects on Daily Life
Research clearly demonstrates that marijuana has the potential to cause problems in daily life or make a person's existing problems worse. In one study, heavy marijuana abusers reported that the drug impaired several important measures of life achievement including physical and mental health, cognitive abilities, social life, and career status.
Its not nessasaraly "good" putting anything in your lungs other than air is bad for you. Weed is not as bad as cigarets because weed (if you dont lace it with anything) is only made up of plant material. And cigarets are more addictive, but weed CAN be addictive.
Weed is also better than beer for the fact that beer makes you do things you wouldn't normally do wile weed makes you not do things you would normally do. Although that isint a good thing ether if you need to get things done or you could be learning something.
Also some jobs will surprise you with a drug test, weed stays in your body (Pee, blood) for up to a month, and it will stay in your hair untell you cut it off.
Other people might argue that weed over long periods of time will make parts of your brain not work very well and could give you cancer if used everyday for long (LONG) periods of time. You need to give your body a chance to clean out your lungs and brain.
Over all if your not looking for a job or the job you do have dosent cheak for drugs smoking pot once in a wile wont hurt you.
Marijuana, like other drugs, is harmful to your body and brain.

Yes. No matter how it gets into your system it affects every organ in the body. It affects the nervous system, brain, blood pressure, and blood sugar. It may contribute to lung cancer, but it does elevate the heart rate and some people have heart attacks because of it. It affects memory, can cause paranoia, anxiety, and depression. It can cause more problems for people with liver disease, low blood pressure, and Diabetes. For men it lowers sperm count and may cause the development of breasts in men.
