In cases of where niacin has allegedly helped alleviate fatigue, depression, and anxiety in individuals, the reported dosage is usually 3 grams. In some cases 1.5 grams. If your truly trying to experience noticeable beneficial effects from niacin, I wouldn't go under 1.5 grams. I would recommend flush-free niacin. And remember: In general, daily values of vitamins are based much more on avoiding deficiencies, rather than optimal health.

never take niacin!

Your doctor might recommend niacin to control cholesterol, as an alternative to drugs that have potential side effects. Don't start it on your own just because someone else takes it, but if your doctor says to take it, he or she will tell you the dosage.

For an adult, the RDA for niacin (vitamin B3) is about 15 milligrams. This value is slightly different for children and pregnant or nursing mothers.
