Well there really is no "best". All antidepressants affect people differently. You just have to try them until you find one that helps YOU best.

Of course after heeding the wise editorial suggestion above, if the depression is not severe you might start with adrenalin. Get plenty of exercise, lots of it aerobic. And make sure you get good doses of natural sunlight early each day. AND follow your doctor's advice.

The main reason and also one of the biggest reasons is that it usually takes 2-4 weeks for the true/full affects of antidepressants to to start working. Then, the new antidepressant you started may not be the right one for you. So, then they may start you on a different antidepressant or add another antidepressant to the first one they started you on to begin with. I know from personal experience it may take several tries before they find the correct antidepressant or a combination of antidepressants. Hang in there and hopefully they will find what works for you.
