it is assumed to be safe as long as it is discontinued before the 3rd trimester. HOWEVER I HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.... i took pristiq for two months before and two months during my pregnancy. now i am 12 weeks along and my baby has been diagnosed with cystic hygroma. i highly suggest you Google this condition... i don't know that pristiq is the cause of my baby's condition, but i wouldn't risk taking it again in future pregnancies, and i would recommend to anyone who asks that you NOT RISK YOUR CHILD'S HEALTH EITHER.
