The first person who answered this question is an idiot. Grapefruit juice contains CYP3A4 inhibiting compound so yes, it does interact with various drugs, xanax being one of them. 3YP3A4 is the enzyme which metabolises xanax so drinking grapefruit juice with xanax potentiates the xanax because less of the xanax gets converted into inactive metabolites. Its not dangerous to take xanax with grapefruit juice at all, it just makes the xanax a little stronger so the obvious way to counteract that is to take less xanax. Heres a list of drugs that are metabolised by CYP3A4 (and thus potentiated by grapefruit juice):

the substrates box contains the drugs metabolised by the enzyme. If you look in the inhibitors box, you'll see the compounds in grapefruit juice.
Avoid eating grapefruit while taking Atenolol.
Ya noob.
I am pretty sure you are not suppose to take them together
I am on Depakote, Clonazepam (Klonopin),Concerta & Prilosec and was concerned about eating grapefruit while on these medications (as I've heard that there can be a negative response while taking some medications and grapefruit together)...~ I just called my pharmacist and listed all these medications for her, and she said that they are ALL FINEto take while eating grapefruit. YAY!~ She went on to say that mostly, there is a concern with taking cholesterol-lowering medications and eating grapefruit. ~ SO, if you are taking: DEPAKOTE, KLONOPIN (Clonazepam), Concerta, or Prilosec (Omeprazole), NO WORRIES! EAT YOUR GRAPEFRUIT & ENJOY!
Grapefruit does NOT cause hypertension (high blood pressure) however, if a person already has hypertension and is taking medication for it, they should check with their doctor or pharmacist before eating grapefruit at the same time they take their medication because grapefruit can interfere with how some medications work.
I am aware of no reason you can't take most if not all medications after eating seafood.
You should take Viagra For high blood pressure, it is good because you can take it with grapefruit. Grapefruit increases the effectiveness of blood pressure pills, therefore, the normal dosage that you take without grapefruit will become an overdose with grapefruit.
Grapefruit contains compounds known as furanocoumarins, specifically bergamottin and dihydroxybergamottin, which inhibit the activity of an enzyme called CYP3A4 in the intestines. This enzyme is responsible for metabolizing many medications. When CYP3A4 is inhibited by grapefruit compounds, it can lead to higher levels of certain drugs in the bloodstream, potentially causing adverse effects or toxicity. It is important to be cautious of grapefruit-drug interactions and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
Is it alright if u take grapefruit extract with statin medications? Is it alright if u take statins in the evening and grapefruit juice in the morning?
Yes you can take grapefruit with tricor. Tricor coming under fibreate family not the statin family. You should limit grapefruit juice and fresh grapefruit consumption while taking statins, as grapefruit can interfere with the liver's ability to metabolize these medications.
yes. but you can't take it with grapefruit.
Yes. You can take them together.
