How long does heroin stay in your system?

A persons height, weight, metabolism and the amount/quality of the drug taken are all factors of how long heroin will stay in your system. Heroin can last on average as little as 48 hours in the lighter users and can last up to 5-7 days in others.

The biggest factor is how often you use and the amount you use; the longer you use the longer it takes to leave your body. On average it will stay in your system for 2-4 days. Heavier users will most likely take close to a week.

At this point heroin may be cleaned out of your system, but it will stay in your hair. If you are going through a hair test, heroin use can be detected even if it's months and

months ago. Hair has the longest testing time.

If you are having a urine test it takes about 3-4 days to get out of your system but hairstrand test are much trickier as you cant use in the days in between your drug test say if you hava a urine test once every 2weeks you could get away with using 2-3 times in between and still get a clean one as long as you stopped 3-4 days previously but with hairstrands they go back 1cm per month and if any opiates are in you it will show up even if you only used 1 or 2 times in 2 months.
It is detectable for about four to five days.
Heroin itself usually is eliminated from the body within 5-24 hours; although it will take longer for it to be eliminated if the user has a slower metabolism and/or if he or she has used it continuously, for a long period of time, and/or at high doses (higher doses, obviously, will take longer to be eliminated from the body). However, detection of heroin in and of itself in the body is used with a drug blood test. This method of detection is usually to determine acute intoxication of the drug, rather than recent use.

With a urine analysis, it takes much longer for evidence of heroin use to leave the body. This is because these tests don't actually test for the presence of heroin.. but rather, it checks for its metabolites (that is, chemicals the body converts heroin whilst eliminating the drug from the body). The detection period for heroin metabolites (morphine being the chief metabolite heroin is converted into) can be anywhere from 2-15 days. Again, the length of detection period depends on the factors above (i.e., metabolism, duration of use, how often heroin is used, & the dosage). But, the typical detection period for heroin with a urine analysis is 2-5 days (although the detection period can via a urine-test can be as little as 1-2 days after a single use or a relatively short duration of use).
