Medicines, especially pills, dissolve in a human's stomach at varying rates. The rate at which medicines dissolve varies on the person, size of the pill, and what the outer layer is made of. Liquid medications do not need to be dissolved.

Food is digested or dissolved by a process called faciliated diffusion.

Food is primarily broken down into smaller parts by the teeth, it is also partially broken down/digested by the enzymes in the saliva.

It then goes down the gullet into the stomach, where yet more enzymes aid in the breaking down of the food particles into their separate substances.

They travel then into the intestines, passing the pancreas and the liver which both aid in the process of digestion.

Finally, it is in the intestines where the absorption of the food takes place.

This happens either through active transport or faciliated diffusion.

Basically, the intestines are lined with millions of flagellum "protruding weird thingys" called microvilli, these improve the surface area of the intestines and are the site of the absorption of food molecules.

The food is surrounded by the membrane of the microvilli, forming a vesicle containing the food particles.

Once the vesicle is fully formed and is inside the cytolpasm of the cell, the membrane of the vesicle is recycled and the food molecules released into the cytoplasm of the cell.

Because of the acid in your stomach - it dissolves the pill & it is absorbed into your bloodstream at a certain rate, depending on the makeup of the drug.
